Taking a break…

Those who follow me on Twitter (who are probably also those who read my blog) may have noticed two single tweets I posted yesterday, announcing that I was going on a bit of a ‘Twitter hiatus’. Considering the speed of which my tweetcount reached 11 000+, it’s safe to say I’m a bit of an addict, checking in regularly and posting 140 characters about some random nonsense more often than not. I love the idea of Twitter, the way you have an immediate platform to voice your opinion, your nonsense or just let the world know “hey…I’m still here”. And depending on your followers, you get a reaction. Friends, acquaintances, fellow twits. It’s fun. It’s pretty much instant and if you follow the right people, it’s informative and a great way to stay informed.

If the people you follow (and that follow you back) are like those in my timeline, they engage you in their lives and activities. Which is brilliant and I have the most interesting, cutting-edge and visionary people in my timeline. Sometimes though, it gets a bit much, though. So I’ve called a temporary halt to my twitter activities.

My little sabbatical may last a day or two, a week or a month. Will see how it goes and how my topsy-turvy life pans out. In the meantime I expect everyone to eat fabulous food, drink lots of wine and make sure I have loads of juicy gossip to catch up on when I return. Oh, lastly…if and when I blog, I’ll post the link on Twitter and I’ll be keeping my eye on everyone now and then. But for the most part, I’m on the moon. With Steve.*

Au revoir, mes amis.

*P.S. Bonus points to all who got the Eddie Izzard reference. DM me and I’ll bake you a cake 🙂
